I have a water garden stocked with Koi and large goldfish. I use the goldfish to help get the pond started when I open it up each Spring. My pond I small, 1200 gallons, and Minnesota weather requires me to close the pond each fall and winter the fish indoors. Good water quality is important in keeping Koi healthy. Pond Salt, biological filter media balls and filter media pads serve as a home for the bacteria colonies and also provide mechanical filtration, Koi Food that helps enhance coloration of the fish, medicated foods are great for routine disease prevention or parasite control, aqua gloves keep your arms dry (which is nice when the water is very cold), kits for testing water quality, air pump for increasing dissolved oxygen levels during the hot Summer months, and I have even order live Koi from Drs F & S.
